Where we stand

AstroSutra is not a person pretending to be a person. Your janma kundali is genuinely computed — sidereal positions, Lahiri ayanamsa, the same mathematics a traditional jyotishi works from — and the reading is then written by our own jyotish AI, built and tuned on classical Vedic method, working from that real chart rather than a generic sun-sign template.

We built it because the alternative had become expensive and uncomfortable. Per-minute billing rewards slow typing. Free consultations end in an expensive gemstone. Good astrologers exist, and they are worth finding — but most people asking a straightforward question do not need a marketplace, a meter, or a sales pitch.

So: the calculation is exact and identical every time — to err is human, and this is the part where human practice slips. Nothing in your chart is skipped because it is late or because someone is waiting. No remedy is suggested because someone pays us a commission — we accept none. And we will never quote you an accuracy percentage, because nobody honestly can. Jyotish is guidance, and the decision remains yours.

The Beginning

Born from a simple frustration.

Astrosutra began with a problem most of us know too well — finding a real jyotishi is hard. The good ones are booked for months. The cheap ones recycle the same predictions. And online horoscopes? Generic to the point of meaninglessness.

So we built something different. A platform where your real janma chart is read using authentic Vedic methods — sidereal zodiac, Lahiri ayanamsa, twelve houses, all nine grahas including Rahu and Ketu. Then your real question is answered with care.

We don't pretend the stars decide your fate. The classical texts never claimed they did. The chart is a map of tendencies, of timing, of dharma. What you do with that map is yours.

The Journey

How Astrosutra came to be.

A small project that grew into something we never quite planned for. Here are the moments along the way.

2023 · The Question

Our founder spent ₹3,500 on a phone consultation that ended in twelve minutes with a vague answer about Saturn. The same evening, the idea for Astrosutra was sketched on the back of a temple receipt.

2024 · The Apprenticeship

Eighteen months of conversations with traditional jyotishis in Varanasi, Ujjain, and Tirupati. We learnt what to honour, what to question, and where modern interpretation could responsibly extend the classical texts.

Early 2025 · The First Readings

A private beta with 200 friends and family. Some predictions landed beautifully. Others missed entirely. We learnt where our method helps, where it humbles itself, and where a human jyotishi is irreplaceable.

Mid 2025 · Public Launch

Astrosutra opens to the public. The first thousand readings happen in twenty days. We discover, to our surprise, that the most-asked question isn't about marriage or career — it's "am I on the right path?"

The Technology

Two intelligences, working together.

Vedic Chart Engine handles the science — computing your precise Lagna, planetary positions, house lordships, and Mahadasha periods using authentic sidereal calculations. The same data a traditional jyotishi would draw by hand.

AstroSutra handles the storytelling — taking that raw chart data, your specific question, and weaving them into a reading that feels human, thoughtful, and direct. No regurgitated horoscope text. Every reading is written fresh.

Neither alone would be enough. Together, they produce something genuinely new — a reading that's astronomically accurate and emotionally readable.

The same split governs our numerology section. Every number — Mulank, Bhagyank, name values, the Lo Shu grid — is worked out in our own code and handed to the AI as fixed input, which is forbidden from recalculating or altering a single figure. It writes the interpretation and nothing else. That is what lets us promise something a free calculator cannot: ask the same question twice and you will get the same numbers both times.

We use the Chaldean system on every numerology page and never mix in Pythagorean, and our number-to-planet friendships come from classical graha maitri — so your numbers and your kundali are describing the same nine grahas rather than two unrelated systems that happen to share a website.

Is Astrosutra "real" astrology or just guesswork?

It's real Vedic astrology. Your chart is computed using the same sidereal-zodiac, Lahiri-ayanamsa method a temple jyotishi uses — nothing about that is invented. That chart is then interpreted against your specific question, drawing on classical jyotish texts our team curated. The astronomy is real, and the interpretation stays bounded by what the chart actually says.

Are there real human jyotishis behind this?

Yes. A small group of practising jyotishis from Varanasi shaped how Astrosutra reads charts — what to emphasise, what to caveat, how to frame difficult periods, when to refuse predictions that classical jyotish considers improper. They don't write each individual reading, but the rules and language patterns are theirs. We consider them co-authors of the system.

Will Astrosutra ever replace a real jyotishi?

No, and we don't pretend otherwise. For complex, multi-chart situations like marriage matchmaking with a difficult dosha, or a recurring health concern across generations, a sustained relationship with a human jyotishi is irreplaceable. Astrosutra is excellent for everyday clarity, timing questions, and decision-support — and honest about its limits.

Why the name "Astrosutra"?

A sutra in Sanskrit means a thread — also a short, dense, deeply considered statement of truth. Vedic astrology was preserved across millennia in the form of sutras, each one a tightly woven knot of meaning. We thought the name fit. Each reading we deliver is, ideally, a small sutra of its own.

Where are you based?

Astrosutra is an Indian company situated in Mohali (Punjab). Our jyotish advisors are based in Varanasi and Ujjain. We currently serve seekers across twelve Indian states and a small but growing number internationally. All payments and reading delivery happen in Indian standard time.
